Can this be fixed?

A single Gu74b? I'd stock up on some spare tubes. A few more if you're going to run it that hard. Russian tubes used to be dirt cheap but as the supply is getting smaller the price keeps going up. The part about squishing the transformer is kind of scary. Be sure the proper size fuses are installed and that it is grounded.

+1 for good grounding. I had one a with a bad transformer bite me, It shorted to the case. Lesson learned.....

I'm glad to hear you just got a warning. I saw some nasty pics of tissue damage down at the cb shop earlier this year. A shorted plate blocking cap and no safety choke. Got his ass good but he's alive.

Another irritation about fleabay sellers that happen across an item from an "estate sale" that have no idea what they are dealing with yet expect a buyer to pay a LIKE NEW price or better for something that they are ill-prepared to deal with.

357,
Glad it worked out for you!

If I sold something that got damaged during shipping like that I would file an insurance claim with the shipping company. I know I would have to refund the buyer his money but I would get mine back as well. Always pay extra for the insurance and pack the item well.

Did some maintenance today.
Set the taps from 230v to 240v and replaced the Chinese so239 with 1 made in...Canada?
LOL

The RF out connector is a bit too involved to do right now I tweaked it for a better bite but they are crap connectors.
