Got my cb base up and running!!

Great Start American Eagle ! I have been looking @ those ( and hearing about ) those wire dipoles for way too many years ! In the near future I'm going to buy one of those ! I have seen many such as " Dr Dipole " listed ! Yes , I know how to make one and have all the pieces to do it , I'm just getting Old and Lazy ! :ROFLMAO: Besides Iv'e seen them listed around or under $30 . I chatted with a gentleman once who had one hanging in his attic in TX ,I must say I was quite impressed ! Good Luck ! 73 and God Bless , Leo

Leo,
I have had great success with attic dipoles for both for CB and ham radio. (y) They work great here in Texas! :D

Ok W9 , You sold me I'll make one ! Right after I finish that Ringo antenna I got from someones trash 2 years ago . It's too short for 11m , I believe a ham op had it and it was setup for 10m ?. I always wanted to try one of them also ! Good news I finally found the piece of tubing I needed a few days ago ! I retired from hay farming 2 years ago and that " Honey Do " list still isn't caught up ! I see the Dr. in a few weeks I'll ask him for a B12 shot .:ROFLMAO:

Definitely make your own dipole. I used and old RG58 50 footer. Stripped 9 feet, bunched up the braid, pulled the center conductor through the braid at the 9ft point. Tied a loop at the braid/conductor separation point and used the last 6 inches, of the braid and conductor, to make loops. Goes with me whenever I travel. I wrap it on a 6" dia pvc pipe and also keep a 100+' string to throw up in a tree and pull it up. Used it a couple weeks ago.
