Hopefully someone can help me out here....I have a 101b and the clarifier doesnt work. The light comes on but doesnt do anything after that. Ive been tracing schematics, surfing for clues on the net and been through the service manaul many times trying to figure this out. I cant adjust the transmit/receive frequency without the clarifier working. Ive just been using it as a receiver. The green wire going into the vfo has 6 volts same as the blue one next to it which shouldnt be i believe. The green wire should be reading around 3.50 vdc give or take a few. I have recapped the electrolytics on the regulator board(pb1314a), and the audio unit (pb1315). The radio receives great and transmits ok just not on the same frequency. Ive tried adjusting the pots that are shown on different videos and explained in the service manual but without the clarifier working at all and 6 volts to start with i cant do it. On the rectifier board where it should be -100 volts its -173 volts. If anyone has any ideas on what components to check or where to look that would be great because i really like this radio.

I believe this is the late "B"
FT-101B - "Early" Model
Serial numbers below 6,000.
Improved IF (PB1183B) and Audio (PB1315), and Blanker (PB1292) boards.
160-10 meter transceiver.

FT-101B - "Late" Model
Serial numbers 6,001 and up.
Improved Regulator (PB1314A), IF (PB1180B), and Audio (PB1315A) boards.
160-10 meter transceiver.
In any case it's all the "B" info I have. Never seen one with the covers off.

I appreciate the effort but I have the schematic and have been going over it for a couple months now. I think I will have to test some components in the vfo area but it’s very tight in there to do anything. There’s a diode in there that I couldn’t quite get my probes on to get a good reading so I’ll have to try harder to get in there.
