Delaware Base Station 808
Sometimes at the end of summer on a cold day I will grab my big coat and find money in the pocket. Better check your closet just in case.
Probably can't do anything either way till spring. Got no $$ right now. Was just entertaining the 86v..
If I had sense I would sell the TS350, get the 148 straightened out and run as a base with the RM 203 I have laying here collecting dust..
Then I'd have a good RX radio and a lil kick if needed..
I believe that would be the best thing for you to do. Those old 148s sound good. Is it the side mic style? Those seem to be the 148s that everybody wants. I have the Lincoln 2. Neat little radio but I hate the receive on it. My ole Uniden (President) Grant is much better and has great adjacent channel rejection.
The 148 with the 203 and a good antenna would do you well. I have toying around with idea of getting a Galaxy 949, but I know what you mean about money being tight. So for now i will stick with what I have.
I run my 99 V on base as well as my early president grant.both cut the air just fine.38 lsb n sometimes i slide upstars to 27.425 n 27.455 shhh
For what those cost for just about $100 more you can get this. It's funny, I was just checking out the 99v2 model.

Talk about hoes…Some of you may remember the Xtal lineup of CB radios around 1975. The X stood for X-rated and their advertising featured porn stars. If you wanted one, err I mean radio, don’t let the XYL know about it. Sneak it in the back door.If it was me I'd keep the 148, but it took me a while to learn. Those fancy exports are the big booty hoes, they are fun to show off and fool around with, but of no real use in the long run. That cute little 148 next door? She will do everything you need on 11 meters, and do it with class.
With that said, you may as well just get the hoe and get it out of your system.
Yes seen a calander from xtal n whew it was hotTalk about hoes…Some of you may remember the Xtal lineup of CB radios around 1975. The X stood for X-rated and their advertising featured porn stars. If you wanted one, err I mean radio, don’t let the XYL know about it. Sneak it in the back door.
It's funny, I was just checking out the 99v2 model. Supposed has 98hp board in it and supposed to have good RX circuit too..
i had a galaxy33 in a mack bed truck in the oil patch.stood up to that rough ride wellI bought one four years ago. Installed in an oilfield-spec Pete 367. A pair of Wilson 2000 on Hustler QD and Predator studs. Robert (at Clays) set it up with his Rig Expert.
(This is also when I added a West Mountain Radio ClrSpkr. An item that will change your life).
I might replace the 99v2 someday, but it’ll be for a specific reason. I’ve no complaints given what it can do.
It now resides in a TAC COMM TRC-2 Radio Carrier above another carrying an RM ITALY KL7505V. (And yet more devices).
That it can run on the factory 15A circuit, or one can adjust the variable power to suit driving an amp PLUS a receiver better (IMO) than my Galaxy 979 (both aligned by same shop) made it a good buy.
I’m not going to enter any fray about what else in that relative price range may be better. The other MAY be better. The 99v2 is no slouch.
(I didn’t much care about the toys onboard until it occurred to me to stir the pot in rush hour traffic. Pure-D fun).
