The hammies let the sweep tube amps die years ago. Them guys know what's going on. Why do the CB guys still insist on dealing with sweep tube garbage. Minimum tube these days is a 3-500. Step out of the 20th century and get into the 21st.

"The hammies" Come on now. At least recognize that an amateur radio operator put time to study in order to use the radio service.
Do you refer to police officers as "Coppies?" They put in a lot of study for police officers.

Call them whatever you want. The fact remains they let the sweep tubes die in ham amps. Minimum of a single 3-500 these days. The 811 tube is the new sweep tube.

G,M* max power is 400W. The *519's make sense. Not as antiquated as you may think. The HVPS is also ingenious.

The 811* was always a transmitting tube with it's own set of limitations.

Metal (ceramic) tubes are not without their inherent complications. The 2500+ volt supply comes to mind followed closely by Russian tube availability and inconsistencies.

These days It's not a bad idea to secure a chunk of iron and purpose it for a tube(s) rather than the other way around. The choices expand with half, full wave, double, triple, quad, as well as choke or capacitive input. Designing the other way around will paint yourself into a corner or create a happy accident where a lump produces the correct voltage(s).
Adapt, improvise, transmit...

*UK "full" license power limit

Does any CBer care about tube parameters? Do any of them box builders have grid current meters on them? Nope! But as anyone knows (if you know triode tubes) the only limiting factor on a triode is grid current. Those parameters you show are what a tube can take under full load conditions 24/7 with proper cooling. What if you are only using SSB? Ya think you can push the limit another 10-15%? That said, you can easily push a good pair of 572b tubes to 900 PEP. CBer's don't care much about IMD when shooting skip just like hammies calling in pile ups. Everyone has their vices.
