Howdy, I was wondering if it made a difference what fuse holder to use for a texas star dx 350 hdv? I used an in line atc 8 guage fuse holder with a 30 amp fuse. Would a fuse holder like agu be more appropriate or it makes no difference? Thanks for the input!

Why not just use a simple circuit breaker?

I can't seem to find what I use right now but I got them from Redmans cb shop e-bay store. It's #8 or #10 wire both red and black together with a fuse holder on the red side. They are about 10 inches long. I add them to all my small amplifiers along with an anderson style red quick disconnect. Ill work on posting a pic here if I can figure it out.

Yeah that link is the same holder I'm using. Does it make a difference what kind of 8 guage wire to run... like silver plated or just regular ol stranded hook up wire?

Nope. Just get some good fine strand #8awg wire. Located at most any stereo shop. Don't fall for the snake oil. Like silver plated wire LOL. It won't make a bit of difference other than making your wallet lighter. JMHO.

I got these off e-bay for like 6 bucks each with free shipping. Can't find them now but I really like the whole set up like this. That is a Texas Star 250 with a #10 kit installed.

Once up to 8 or 6-gauge:

And ANCOR “Marine Grade” 8/2-Duplex Safety Wire:

Not cheap, but USCG standard works very well in mobile install. No solder (vibration), thus ANCOR adhesive-lined terminations.

Self-extinguishing ANCOR split-loom the final touch.

Since “measure twice & cut once” isn’t enough for me, I tend to FIRST lay out the entire installation with cheap substitute.

Anderson PowerPoles where necessary.

End result is to be a harness comparable to or better than OEM.

Problem with all the TS amps is all of them have shitty wire that is too small for the amp, and that fuseholder will melt off in short order. You don't have to go FR on an amp that small, but some of those big capsule type fuseholders used in car audio work very well. I forget what they hell they're called but they will take up to an 80 or 100 amp fuse and up to 4GA wire.

DC Circuit breakers are nice, too, but I've had them fail "open". And when they do it obviously turns into a huge pain in the ass.... so if you go the circuit breaker route, get a high quality device. A lot of the supposedly high current CBs are junk. Unfortunately its hard to tell whether or not its junk until it fails...
