isolation from mast

Anytime somebody has to throw off the focus of a discussion to a name calling event you know they feel defeated.

While we are calling people names I can say the scariest source of disinformation I've ever seen comes from people masquerading as broadcast engineers. BTW that's not directed at anyone here.

There really isn't much difference between hams and cbers anymore so why bother to bring it up.

Pathetic attempt at shit stirring. Its funny how those with the least input like to gang up to hide their lack of knowledge.pmsl.

mack you lifted your antenna off the mast and layed it on the roof correct? you changed the polarization of the antenna. the closer to horizontal you get the more noise reduction you will see. this is expecially true of man made noise's. it had nothing to do with ungrounding the antenna from the mast.

No it remained vertical.

Yo Mack. Did you build the knife switch thing yet so we can put this to bed? Maybe I missed it if you posted elsewhere.

teh tnx.

No I haven't as winter is still in full force in Colorado and the window of opportunity is very narrow then work grabs those openings.

jazzsinger,
I'm sorry you misinterpreted that statement. It's what's called sarcasm. Typically means the exact opposite of what's said, intended in the exact opposite of the way it's stated.
Please believe me, if I intend to 'stir the shit', I'm not very subtle about it. So, I apologize for making a statement that you didn't understand. There are quite a few reasons for misunderstandings like that, so it's nothing you should feel ashamed about.
See what I mean?
- 'Doc

(That's called 'innuendo', by the way, and can be interpreted two ways. Care to guess which way I meant?)

How does changing the mounting distance of the radials from the base of the vertical element effect the antenna performance? Is there any benefit or loss to say putting a 1/4 wave of space between the radials and the base of the vertical? As mentioned earlier with the coaxial coke.
