It is true that an antenna model over real Earth probably should include the mast and the feed line if we wish to really get close to real world results. That is some of what Cebik and W8JI warn us about in their writings on modeling.

IMO, the distinction to be made here is however, a model over real Earth vs a model in Free Space...where Eznec gives us a visual FS warning on the main screen if we have not physically removed all 3 model losses noted in the manual...which includes the losses associated with conductive materials used in the model, the ground effects used if any, and anything we would attach to the antenna during mounting, like the feed line and the mast and conductive guy lines if used.

As noted in my models posted above we see the effects of the mast and/or feed line when included in the Free Space model.

Does 4nec2 allow you to control these 3 characteristics?

nospec, when I saw the truth of this issue as demonstrated in my modeling I wasn't embarrassed that I didn't know better, I was happy that I learned something new.

marconi, I also experienced, recently I started modeling with 4nec2

I really like its about EZNEC models but do not understand the software.

Here shipping two models perform on a mast 12 meters, a groundplane (monopole?) with planes and 5/8 with planes 1/4.

They are modeled on perfect ground.

You can easily modify

I commented that I use google traslator to interpret, I do not speak English naturally.

greetings!

I think I understand your words in most cases. The translator looks to be working fine for you.

However, the zip file you posted does not appear to work as I expect a zip file to execute.

I use Winrar to create the files.

They are compressed, but you must use a type ZIP decompressor.

And 4NEC2

luck (y)

nospec, is Winrar free or is it just free to download?

With downloads today, it is getting near impossible that a new program does not go into your settings and often times make critical changes to some settings. If you understand this...did you notice anything in particular when you downloaded Winrar?

Can you use the Z-zip which is free to use.

7-Zip

good luck and good models

PD: I experimented with other models there, too curious l gain of a L dipole about 40 feet

8 pages of debating the flavor of the color 9 when all you have to do is hold a fluorescent light bulb next to the antenna to see where there's enough RF to light it.
I dont see the value in argueing when it isn't that hard to test and find out.
I'll try it tomorrow night.

I think some of these old threads deserve another look
