Thanks for the advice.

My insomnia is caused by PTSD. I was tortured for 2.5 months and well it has been a long long road.

Sadly when I really should have gotten help I did not for obvious reasons so it has taken a long time to make a partial recovery.

They always came for me as I was trying to go to sleep so I have a hard time relaxing at bedtime because part of me knows that they will come for me when I try to go to sleep. Well they came for me around the clock but it was especially bad after being worn down for days and then right as you were about to fall asleep they would ratchet it up!

So when I am very hungry and tired and cold two things come back to me my training and my torture. This is the first time I have told anyone about it outside of my wife. My children do not even know. Enough time has passed that I can talk about it with out it being traumatic or dredging up my dark emotions.

I cherish life like few can imagine. I am very driven but sometimes have a hard time getting started! My mind goes from Genius to Forrest Gump at random and I have no control over it. So depending on when you catch me determines which me you get! LOL It is frustrating because I was not always like this. Lately I have been working hard to smile more and chase away negative self thoughts and improve my posture some as well.

Lately I have been water fasting 3-8 days at a time, praying and doing a lot of quite introspection which is very amazing and very therapeutic. Not for everyone that is for sure.

Yes most of the NXP's products in the spectrum we would use in radio broadcasting are int he 48V to 65V area. I think it is BLF that has some rf specific LDMOS units that are designed to run at 100V+. It has been years since I looked at them. I thought I read some papers on some as high as 240V. They might have been for aviation use since high freq. high voltage is fairly common in aviation andmiltary devices where small size and lots of power density is a must. I know that maybe 5 years ago before anyone else was really talking about them I was planning a build but then I got side tracked with other projects and at least 3 years had passed and the LDMOS landscape changed. What they can do today at 65V used to require a lot more voltage. Right now the "Golden Goose" is 65V devices. You can operate them at less than that but gain is almost always better with LDMOS devices and Mosfet devices the higher the power is taken. That is why bipolars while obsolete are still prefered for aftermarket HF amps for mobile use by many builders since you can get decent gain and decent durability in a bipolar at 12V-16V but that is not really true of Mosfets and LDMOS at those same power levels. I am not current though so things might have changed a lot!

If you need anything do not hesitate, get to the VA or hell even giving me a call could help.

I just HAD to ask that. LOL. I used to use one of those a loooong time ago. Quite useful but not 100% necessary even for an amp builder if he is a basement builder. Working in an actual RF lab is another story. The following circuit works well as a simple beta tester and allows accurate matching of transistors.

How many Builders actually do this?
I have a suspicion not many if any at all.
