I had an Imax 2000 get hit once. Blew the base apart right where the fiberglass meets the aluminum mount. The little yellow cover on the tip of the top section had a tiny 1/16" burn spot right in the center.
She then layed over on its side on top of my garage. Fiberglass splinters all over the ground below. I was disconnected at the time thank the Lord. Coax, RG8X, tested fine but I replaced it for good measure. The only electronics it took out was my Radio Shack PRO 52 handheld scanner. And it wasn't even connected to an external antenna or plugged into the wall wart!
The moral...... lightning is a cold harted B**ch!

I'm sure that Frankenstein 955 Porkchop Stryker you have built will definitely need some transplants. That thing sure has the cool factor. Hope you can find a way to get a handle on some variable power for it. Running WOT can't be good on it.
Decided to open it up. Some of the smell of rotten Stryker Corpse has dissipated.

Hooked my old PC66 and antenna acts fone swr is still 1.1/1. Gotta break it down and inspect before running linear on it. Been told the amp board is not much, could get lucky and other things ok.....have, I don't count on that......I'm Irish.
No....but the thought of making a video of using it for target practice did cross my mind.
