Naaah, Ham makes it too easy, 1500w (minimum? lol) but 11m with a decent 100w SSB rig and a well made directional antenna and there's some challenge, especially w/o conditions.

So I presume this will be a Ch38 "happening"?
Most of the operators I know don't use extra power. Barefoot ham radios will put out 100 watts rms and that gets out plenty good..

There are a few of us on the CB threads that have been talking about "reclaiming" LSB 16, the de facto SSB frequency back in the pre-40 channel CB days. If successful, this effort could take some of the load off of an increasingly congested LSB 38.

The other theme that's been kicked around is a recommendation that folks not tie up LSB 38. Use it - or LSB 16 - as a hailing frequency and then QSY to a neighboring channel. In the old days, folks would take their LSB 16 contact and QSY to LSB or USB 17 or 18. On LSB 38, my practice is to drop to LSB or USB 37 or 36. I don't use 39 at all because there is another group that uses it.

We're hovering around solar minimum, but the skip still occasionally does roll in when sunspot activity gets rolling. This past week has been pretty active. I'm looking forward to enjoying more contacts with folks and being part of the WWDX crowd that improves the CB experience for all.

You do realize WorldwideDX.com is an Amateur Radio Club?
But they do allow CB'ers to join too.
