Radioddity CB-27 CB Radio Mobile Radio | AM/FM |

No demand for SSB? That's pretty much 180 degrees opposite of what my experience tells me.

It would be ideal to see the FCC allow FM on CB, as is allowed in Europe, and for there to be an AM/FM/SSB version of little radio like this one.

As far as portable with SSB and legal under current rules: my Cherokee AH100 continues to fit the bill and perform well.

I have noticed it is a chore to get these to modulate the 8W carrier in AM on the high power setting...

But in truth, 8W vs 4 watts carrier isn't worth it on the RX end, if you want to be stronger, get a better Antenna setup, and put an amp behind it...
i actually turned mine down to 6 watts and worked on modulation.got out fine

I can believe that...

I think that setting is mainly for the European FM users, because in AM, a 8 watt carrier versus 4W ... well, the juice isn't worth the squeeze, IMHO
only reason i did it ,i was at home not working due to weather so i set down and took my time.it talked fine but it became a better radio, traded it in on a new bearcat 980

no extra channels ,but my bearcat 980 i traded my itty bitty radio is much more refined.im thinking how to bypass the power coil and use a dial to go max or minum watts to drive an amp
