I have had great success with Used gear for the most part & when I did not I received a full refund & they paid the return shipping cost. Can't beat that. I just purchased a Kenwood TS-2000 a little over a week ago with a HEIL GOLD ELITE microphone, Overhead Boom,HEIL thumb switch,& a shock mount & the Kenwood HEIL cables, programming cable, & it was a Steal at just $800 shipped & insured in my opinion. The radio looks great,works great,& does just what I purchased it for (VHF/UHF SSB). I am usually an ICOM Man but they no longer make anything I will ever own since I don't & never will do touch screen radios. I will keep my ICOM 7600 & ICOM 746 for my HF/6 meter needs & the TS-2000 will never get an antenna connected to those antenna ports while it is on my desk.

Same here, I have never bought new. This goes for my radio gear as well as my photography stuff. I have never been burned.

When I got my ham ticket here (7 years ago), I bought a ,Kenwood TS-430S locally from the wife of a silent key. It was in excellent condition, priced right, and had most of the accessories: power supply, ext spkr, desk mike, FM board, SSB filter, and SWR/Power meter. Cycle 24 was winding down, and I was looking to talk to the locals. My Espanol wasn't the greatest back then, and when these snotty-ass bastards found out I was an expat American, everyone (except for a couple of guys) ignored me. I packed up the rig and it's still setting on the shelf.
It really isn't a good radio for 11 meter dx. Low AM power (60W), and SSB only does about 210 PEP. I really don't want to invest in a big amp when I have an excellent TX600. Plus, most contacts said they liked the sound of my TRC457 better (???) Go figure.

I'd sell it, but shipping cost to the US is a killer. Too bad, cause it's a nice rig.
