I installed one of those $4.99 blue Bourns brand 20k 10 turn pots, in my 1992 made in the Malaysia cobra 148 gtl.

My question is why does the clairifier track backwards now? turn it to the right and the frequency goes down/ turn it to the left and the frequency goes up.

These are the instructions I used.

I could not read that image on my monitor but if there is one labeled wiper leave that one as it is and reverse the other 2.

They have it labeled like this
Front pin is ground
Middle pin is pin 3 ic4 8 volt source
Back pin is blue wire

I’m assuming that the middle pin is the wiper and needs to be left alone. All I did was swap the the two wires on the ends of the pot. It made the radio several kHz of frequency. And spinning the pot had no effect any more.

Yeah that’s what I started to think also, that’s the next thing I’m gunna try... I remember years ago like 2012, watching I think, it was a snake radios YouTube video, where I coulda sworn he said if you put in a 10 turn it would track backwards. They were probably following the same instructions I found online back then lol.
