How does Motormouth Maul get away with it?

We are all expected to co-exist on this Forum.

That's what we like about it. It's for Amatuers ops and CBers alike.

If neither can tolerate the other, than maybe it's best to move on to a dedicated Amateur or CB forum.

I promised myself I would stay clean and civil on this very cool website, and I'm doing my best, but when I see hams come over to the CB chat, and start talking junk about legalities on 11M, I want to react. However, the better approach is, instead of saying something nice and stupid, it's best to let it go. My humblest of opinion has always been that the majority of hams who hate 11M are just putting up a front, because they can't be on CB, because they don't fit in with the CB crowd. They just don't have the guts. The first time someone told them to "shut up stupid", or told them they are "in the mud", they would immediately run upstairs, and cry to their mothers. Lol Did I lose my civility just a bit? Sorry.

Total and complete antagonistic bullshit.

Thats a very sad narrow-minded opinion to have but it is your opinion and I will accpect it. I did come from 11 meters, I was on CB from 1973 to 1990. I moved up because CB was limiting and honestly I was tired of most of the crap that was happening there (i.e noise toys, echo, music playing, fighting). Yes the same shit happends on the ham bands but I have crap load of more places I can go to get away from it. I want to have actual conversations with decent people, I want to work DX when your band is dead, I want to play with cooler radios, and don't want to be told you need to have "guts" to enjoy a hobby.

You are not alone. Probably the vast majority of hams came from 11m....myself being one of them.....but decided to move on to better and greener pastures. NOTHING says they cannot coexist on either band.

Hey older Hammies, what's with the attitude?

LOL just kidding guys.

yeah, this thread became a debate about the legality of CB operators, the audio quality of CB operators, the bad manners and rude behavior of CB operators, and how ham radio provides better radio opportunities.

So let's take a look back in the thread and see if we can find anyone who is primarily a CB operator bad mouthing other CB operators.
nope.

could it be that there are some primarily ham operators who just can't keep themselves away from threads about CB radio, and then completely forget that they chose to click on a thread about something they have a disdain for?
yep.

gentlemen, if enjoying radio is what it's all about, then why oh why do you need to make sure that everyone knows how you feel about a radio service you barely use?
I wonder how many threads there are about this stuff up in the ham section?
none.

yet here you are, thread after thread in the CB section, finding your interests in the company of the exact people who you say drove you away from the CB hobby and into the arms of ham radio.

LC I know this was directed at me. Sorry if I upset everyone. Anyway, I will let it all go... Happy Fathers Day everyone... take care and enjoy the forum

LOL not just you. there are many that hang out down here with people they say they can't stand.

also no worries, you and i have both been on this site for a long time, and we usually tend to agree about other things.

As a CB operator, i have developed pretty thick skin, and am usually ready for an argument LOL.

happy fathers day to all you daddy-o's.

When this forum started years ago the founding members wanted a forum that welcomed all types of radio operators.
We have managed to do that and survive for many years now.
If we can all be tolerant of each others opinions and understand that not everyone is going to agree with everyone else it works well.
Sometimes we all need to exercise a little self control and not let things get under our skin so to speak.
We have lots of CB guys that post in the Ham sections and lots of Ham guys that post in the CB sections.
Works out most of the time.
The main goal here is to help each other out and have fun playing radio.

Threads that turn into Us against Them often die after they start swirling down the toilet.
Its not that serious as all of this is a hobby and not life and death even though we do have members that are very "passionate" about radio.

You guys should have been around when Channel Master or CW Morse were members here.
It was like QRZ.

Oops did I just say that?

We all have the sound we like, dude. He uses a radio studio console, so he has a great audio frequency range. Your over the top trashing of him shows jealousy on your end. Just look at his station on his website. You probably don't know what half the stuff is.

I will take the gear I have over anything that he owns.I own over 100 CB Radios including the best that were ever produced as well as some of the finest Amateur Radio gear ever produced and I would never use any radio that sounds like he sounds on any band.Sounding like CRAP has never been a desire of mine and I don’t know why anyone would? I also find it funny that someone would think me or anyone else would be jealous of the way his station sounds? LOL That is beyond funny so thanks for the laugh.I almost wet my shorts laughing at that one.I would guess that he would love having much of the gear that I own since he is far far behind in gear from my own.I guess he has big dreams but I am not sure since when I hear his signal it is nothing worth of listening to compared to so many others. He is nothing more than a want to be who will never amount to much of anything if his CB Station is a sign of what he feels is worthy of much of anything. Thanks again for the laugh and if you have any more good ones Please share them.I have been on the CB since 1965 and Amateur Radio since 1994 and have seen his kind come and go and he will be no different so if he is your hero I would start recording him so you will have him around much longer than he will be on the air.If he was very smart he would adjust that sound board and get it sounding much better so I guess he is not the genius some make him out to be. 73

Some people like wide audio with a lot of frequency response.
If you have a radio that has the front end opened up to take advantage of that and like it then you like it.
It is like ESSB.
Some guys hate it to the the ends of the earth.
Some guys strive to achieve nice wide audio and frequency response.
You are entitled to what you like and the guys that like wide AM audio are entitled to what they like.
That is called different strokes for different folks.
Some people don't like butter milk biscuits or no excuses on the bowl.
Some do.
