Did some calling at 3 est, but skip is out right now, I usually lose it here between 2 and 5. I am away for the evening, but will be on tomorrow for sure.

I Huffed and Puffed and blew into the mic on 16 LSB only to hear raw static and not even bleed over from the CH 17 crowd. Zooming down on the ham bands still kind of empty with low band static. Heard some of the crowd down in Orange County about 70 miles away in the back ground, but that was it.

I monitored and then hailed on LSB 16 several times this afternoon. It was dead. I did not hear a single other station out there. No one responded.

Mother Nature was not on our side today. On the other hand, that doesn't mean we don't keep trying.

Will keep trying another day. Conditions were north to south and even a little east this evening(close AZ and ID). I did hear 1 person in northern CA that advised they made many contacts today(much further east than I could hear, AR was the furthest but, could be wrong on that). Probably due to a good location. 38 lsb has traffic and people trying to be courteous(keeping contacts short). 73's.

Hey Jay, my contact today was in Clearlake 358 miles north(on 38lsb my 16lsb highlight of the day was from Rob with the SDR on page 1, that I made the trip). The short stuff is fun sometimes. Maybe we'll get a little short east to west one of these days. 73's

Hats off to everyone for keeping at this. It will not happen over night, or be any kind of easy, there are just a few of us on here, and conditions are not like ham where we can just make contact. It makes this all the more rewarding and fun. I have told some people from other forums who I try and make contact with to look for me on 16, top of the hour. Over time and word of mouth, I think it can develop and grow. It is just great to get people open to the idea that we don't all have to be on 38 lsb, It is fun to work 38, then drop to 16 for 10 mins top of the hour for a break from the pile up. I got one worldwide contact first day so that was very cool. Challenge is the fun of cb radio skip. Part of the joy of cb skip for me is the fact that it is fluky, and unpredictable. I have a few people I have met from the web, and we try for contact all the time, some it has happened , some are very far away and were still trying. It is a hoot when you make contact after weeks of trying. Having web contact and radio contact has made for a very rewarding combination. It is great to be able to hit somebody on face book and say , I heard you on , but I could not make the trip. That web/cb combination, really is great fun. Just like this forum, it is great that we can share ideas, and get a group of people involved. 40 years ago this was not possible, we live in wonderful times!

Anyone that use's a FB page feel free to " PM " me yours . I'll return w/ mine , I have a few WWDX members already . 73 & God Bless , Leo

The cycle is working against us right now. Still, summer tends to be the season when we get some additional openings. Many of them will come sporadically and unannounced - like when a particular weather phenomenon creates conditions - recognizing that an active window for me may be dead quiet for others. For those opportunities, we'll pretty much just have to give a shout out when we see them.
On the other hand, solar minimum is solar minimum.

I definitely would like to continue with the coordinated effort. If we pick firm days (week-ends?) and designated times it should help our chances. I'm a believer that when folks start announcing their initial successes making contacts on LSB 16 you will soon have others follow.

So, here's what I suggest for our next coordinated effort to revive LSB 16.

Saturday, June 22nd:
9:00A.M. eastern/8:00A.M. central/6:00A.M. pacific;
12:00 noon eastern/11:00A.M. central/9:00A.M. pacific;
3:00P.M. eastern/2:00P.M. central/noon pacific;
6:00P.M. eastern/5:00P.M. central/3:00P.M. pacific.

Sunday, June 23rd:
9:00A.M. eastern/8:00A.M. central/6:00A.M. pacific;
12:00 noon eastern/11:00A.M. central/9:00A.M. pacific;
3:00P.M. eastern/2:00P.M. central/noon pacific;
6:00P.M. eastern/5:00P.M. central/3:00P.M. pacific.

I'll try at other times, too. However, my thinking continues to be that getting folks out there at coordinated times will help our chances of making contacts.

Please feel free to chime in with other ideas. I don't want to be a hog about this - just a strong proponent. I'm glad to keep the ball rolling and have the group of us tweak as good suggestions come forward.

Works for me ,is the same as prepper radio, on the threes, for eastern standard. Some of the preppers have adopted in a shth fan scenario, every three hours on the 3/6/9 /12 o'clock,for three mins, this gives people a guide of time to call and a way to conserve batteries,if times were tuff. So good idea for sure.

I did not know that - the prepper schedule. Personally, I'd like to see Elon Musk achieve his dream and successfully land on Mars before any of the prepper stuff becomes a necessity. Until then, I'll be hanging out on my boat here in paradise shooting skip on 11 meters.
