Ordered today on AMZN. Was 5% off. Saved $13.**. Was $261 shipped.

Sending to a friend to check and tune on scope for me. Then he'll ship up here. Stated he gets 45w AM and about 50w SSB cleanly. Which is what I want.

Plan to use as a base and hoping the few extra watts over my barefoot 10-12w Ranger 296 helps on the DX side some. I get out with the Ranger but as you know some days are rough in DX land.

Birthday on 14th so this is my gift to myself.

Pondering the KPO NM-532 power mic from over the pond for it. Few reports says it sounds good. And the videos of it make it sound like the AT6666 has more audio depth.. cost is $40 or so USD with shipping..

Will do a mini review I guess.

Supposed to be latest model.

Yeah you’ll like that radio once you get used to the menus. I sold the only one I had in stock, I’m gonna mail myself to the guys house, steal it and mail us back home.

Happy Birthday to you on the 14th, I’ll be forgot by then.

But I gotta say, Lane Meyers DX’d with 1 watt, why can’t the rest of us?

Uh Oh :( I'm taking good care of it Chop.

Well I was thinking 5555. But then mic adapter minus the hot pin, 3 fets doing 40-45 AM and only about 25-30 SSB..

vs the 6666 with 1 driving 3 fets, simple 6-4 Uniden mic adapter (which I own).. and the 50/50 AM/SSB makes this an easy decision in my opinion.

I run 95 percent SSB and some funky AM like 26.915/845/825 and then SSB on 27.485-555

Small form factor if I did want to have an SSB rig also has appeal. I have an un-used NMO on the pickup roof as well that was for my 2m.

I think the menus aren’t that big of an issue, once you get it all set up anyway. Sure you’ll want to make a change here and there but you’ll soon figure that out and it’ll be second nature.

My opinion is the 6666 has a better receiver to it and it definitely has more power. Plus those devil quads is pretty cool too. Repeating numbers, especially even numbers, is always a good thing.
