So several skip contacts the last few days with this rig. All giving me clean audio reports.
Only gripe is the channel skip when going up with frequency.. occasionally it won't go up, just repeat same station. Going down it doesn't seem to to do it..
Definitely getting more contacts when skip is busy over my Ranger 296 which has only 16w max on SSB and that's with a whistle. The Quad 6 is showing 25-42 with my voice.. and whistle shows me 60w..

I'm looking to get at6666 here in the next few weeks. I have an old Turner hand mic I'd like use with it. It's the best mic I've found that works well with my voice and I've always got good reports with it.

Absolutely. You know where too. A few places come to mind and there’s another thread on that I believe.
Why not just say screw it and change the plug to 4 pin and be done with it?
