Had a bad storm hit our town a couple weeks ago,, 80+ mph straight winds they called it, and the neighbors tree came down on my garage roof and Tower,

got the house all fixed and cut up the tower for scrap. lost my A-99, 6m beam, 2m beam, scanner antenna, and the tower was supporting my all band 80m doublet fed with 600ohm true ladder line

no plans to get a tower back up yet this year, I go in for heart surgery next week and will be recovering for 12 weeks so I wanted to get something back up quick so id have some radio time during recovery so I got about 225' of wire in a triangle loop between some trees about 20' up, fed with the 600ohm ladderline (to a Johnson matchbox) I still had going to the roof area,, seems to be working ok for now

So sorry to hear/see that, Jay.
Glad you were able to get something up to have in the meantime.
Good luck with your surgery! Best wishes for a full and speedy recovery. (y)

thanks

the tower actually fell perfect into the back yard, could have been way worse if the tree took it any other direction

waiting on an email from the insurance company, guy sounded cool about it , said its covered, send in replacement costs for the tower and antennas. might turn out ok

Wow that sucks - glad that it didn't do any other damage and no one was hurt.

Hope the surgery goes well.

Take care and listen to your doctors. Recovery is real important phase.

thanks you all for the kind words,, im back at home getting around on my own and it the recovery stage, cant believe just 5 days ago I had open heart surgery,, so far so good and more good news my insurance is cutting me a check for the tower and even included a bonus $500 to clean the downed tree up so I don't even have to worry about the deductible, going to come out good for a new tower in the spring/maybe late fall

Bless your heart, Jay. (No pun intended.)
Glad things are looking up for you.
Bright skies ahead! (y)
