I had a gen 1 2950 for years that worked great,base or mobile. Then it started acting up and the internal battery went bad which I replaced. Got tired of messing with it and sold it off for parts. Now have a 2970n2 on base really like it. No menus,easy to dial in any freq. I want and not cluttered with a bunch of switches. I installed a switch to shut off the amp and dead key about 2 watts in to an external amp. This one should last a while and I get great audio reports with the Sadelta mic on it.
