[ I hook the hr2510 back up and right back to a 1.8 swr]

1.8? I'll buy that for a dollar! i.e. - it's fine at 1.8:1

The Astatic 636L is a non powered noise cancelling microphone. Perhaps you were thinking of the Astatic Road Devil?

The antenna is not tuned for those frequencies. The SWR meter says the SWR is high at those frequencies. The meter can't tell them apart, and just reads all the reflected power lumped together.

I would first tighten all the ground screws inside the radio on all the printed circuit boards. Might help, might not. Good chance you'll find at least one that's not tightened.

Cheap to try.

The 2510 is a wide transceiver and I would check for a variance across the bands, but! 1.8 SWR is not bad at all!
