What's the purpose of the overlap? This is my first ham rotor. Always used TV rotors in the past. I see it has a warning light. I suppose I need to monitor for that, or add extra slack to avoid twisting cable.

Why does it do that?

I kinda like it.. if I need a few more degrees to get right on em I don't have to come all the way back around. Enough slack in your coax runs is important when deciding to keep on a turning..

Not sure of the brand, maybe the same company making the new one for DXE.
Super Heavy Duty. They use a continuous drive side-mounted worm gear.
They look like a baby Prop-Pitch motor, except they will fit inside Rohn 45G and larger towers. They have no stop. The turns ratio or stop is programmable via the software on the Green Heron controller package.
W8PR just installed two of these. One went on the 20m 6 element @110 ft.with the 73 ft boom
The second one went under the big 40m 3 element on the 75 ft tower.
The biggest HyGain rotors Failed under load with those antennas (Pro HD300 ?)
The one under the 20m, weight was like 80 lbs...
The one on the 40m was one step smaller, weight was like 65 lbs.
They are HOGS.
All the Best
Gary

PS: Nomade is correct. Yaesu rotors are the old brands EmPro & KenPro.
I have the G-800DXA Yaesu. I have had excellent service for like going on 10 years now.
That rotor has been abused, by how many times it has been spun!
