Ameritron 811 and TS-590SG

I removed the little access panel on the back of the amp. I see a green wire tucked off to the right. I suppose that opens the goodness. I'm surprised this dude didn't use this amp on 11. At least I know it wasn't hammered on 11 meter AM.

Only GREEN wire in the amp so cut it & the 10 meter mod is complete.I had the 811H for about 12 years & it served me well.I replaced it with an ICOM PW-1 that my wife bought me when I retired.I sold the 811H to a local friend for $500 with an extra set of 811A tubes.

I wish it was an 811H. I know my OCD will want me to get a legal limit one, but my billfold says no, especially after my recent radio and antenna spending spree. 600 will do me just fine. Physics tells me a bigger one ain't gonna be that much different. Trying to find a place to put this. I'll have to put my big power supply on top. Should have it operational tomorrow.

This amp is supposedly less than a year old. He was original owner. Would this amp be up to date, like in not needing any updates or mods? I'd rather not put anymore $ in it if I don't have to.

Legal limit amp is only about an s unit more than 600 watts.
That 590 has good audio and if your antenna(s) are up to snuff you should be ok.

Other than cutting that green wire everything should be up-to-date .
