How do you like the KJ7U Screwdriver Antenna? Been thinking about a screwdriver antenna but I'm never mobile that much to bother. Might go with a 6m antenna next summer on the truck to go with the Comet CA-2x4SR 2m/440 already on it.

Is that a 102 whip on top of that?

Yes, it is! like 14+ ft to the top. That makes the antenna on 6m a 3/4 wave antenna using almost zero loading coil. Works well.
Also really makes tuning 75m phone band work well also.

CK: I've had this screwdriver going on 17 years now. 4 different trucks. Been a Great performer.
He custom made that for me. The coil is 60+ turns on a 3.5-inch shaft made of #12 solid hard-drawn copper wire connected via solid brass finger stock at the top.
The main outer base shaft is 4-inch aircraft Aluminum, inside is a worm gear driven by a variable speed Black and Decker reversible 12vdc screw gun motor in the base.
It's a talker even on 100 watts on 75m.

Very nice mobile rig you got!

For stationary mobile operating, I use a MFJ 17ft telescoping whip. This is a 1/4 wave on 20m but because the antenna body is part of the antenna length, I have to shorten the whip just a bit to tune.

I recommend getting one because it's easy to swap out and improves lower band performance and the whip collapses to less than 24 inches so it's easy to store in your vehicle.

It'll improve 40 meters significantly where I'll use about half the loading coil as opposed to a 5ft whip I normally use.
