Unfortunately, I am parting with my Uniden ax144 am/SSB CB radio. This radio is in great working order. Does come with power cord. No microphone. loosecannon. Made this into a very nice radio. I consider him to be a great friend, Asking $100 Shipped. PayPal. Here are the repairs that he has done in his own words, As for the radio, here's what I changed:
all the pots and switches were cleaned and lubed.
new LED for the meter.
faceplate was a lovely shade of yellow, as were knobs, but that actually tends to help keep them from deteriorating as much. go figure.
Changed two caps in the mic amp circuit to open up the audio just a bit wider than stock for a fuller TX sound.
upgraded the AM regulator transistors to match the way the Galaxy radios did it.
this board uses the same scheme, but back then they didn't have it as robust as it is now.
these are the bigger transistors you see in the rear right corner.
upgraded the main filter caps for larger values for more headroom on modulation peaks.
did the assymetrical modulation mod to it so it does 130% positive peaks, and 95% negative peaks.
I upgraded the voltage regulator that controls the 8 volts on transmit since I added that relay and there is a bit more current draw on that circuit.
should be all good now.
full alignment. dead key set at 4 watts.
The PA jack is the one used to key the amp.
I would never use the EXT SPEAKER jack, as i always use an external speaker with all my radios.
