this looks like a fabric wire wound resistor? Can this be rewound? What/ we’re can the fabric wire be acquired?

Umm, under the three final tubes?

If it's the one I think, it serves as the shunt resistor to read plate current on the radio's meter. Just has to be the right resistance, and heavy enough to handle the current of all three tubes. To rewind the original you would need resistance wire made from an alloy that has a much higher resistance per inch than normal copper wire. The fabric is supposed be fiberglass, to tolerate high temperatures.

Sounds like maybe your FT102 experienced a set of chinese 6146 tubes.

Yes you are correct I had a mismatched pair (different type tubes) I found out that I shouldn’t do that so I ordered a new matched type set.
I just don’t know we’re to purchase that wire?

Contact Malcom NC4L he specializes in ft-102 repair. Look him up on QRZ.com
He may even have the part you need or point you in the right direction.

Yeah, he did say one-oh-one. Not sure how I missed that and got "102". Musta been a long day.

Same rule applies, both radios use a similar resistor for that function. In the 101E schematic, this part is R12. Listed in the parts list only as "wire wound meter shunt". No resistance value is shown.

Can't find any further info on file here. It's probably in the neighborhood of 1/10 of an ohm, but that's just a guess. If the old one isn't totally blown open like a fuse, simply separating the individual turns of wire so there's a small gap between them may be sufficient.

And if it's blown open-circuit like a fuse, I would be wondering about further damage to the power supply.

Somewhere 3 final tubes were mentioned, only the ft102 had 3 finals.
His name is not Mel it's Malcom.
I thought the post was about a FT-102

Yes I know his name is Malcom........he calls himself Mal as per his QRZ.com page. https://www.qrz.com/db/NC4L/ He has worked on only the FT-102 for 25 years or more and is pretty much the expert on them. I only wish he did other Yaesu models as well.

There's guy who puts his advert up about twice a month in the buy-sell- Ham equipment group on Facebook who only repairs 101's. His name is Tom Harold. I don't know anything about him except that he's been advertising in the Group for 2-3 months now.
