As stated run it with a 2-3 watt dead key and no more then 20 watts PEP. Not sure how good the tubes are but if it's getting you 275-300 be happy. Even if you could somehow force 50-100 more watts out of it NO ONE that you talk to will notice. It's an older amp I would be gentle with it.

I have owned 2 or 3 of these amps and this design was used in other type amplifiers as well. 2 to 4 watt dead key is fine for all old tube amplifiers. The Firebird should do close to 400 to 500 watts PEP you probably have a couple weak tubes .

Be for I do any thing to this amp I,m going to replace the fan or fans. The fan still works but it is so noisy it .can wake the dead. Can you recommend a replacement ? Replacement of 4 6LQ6 tubes may cost more money than I can put into it for now.

Unless someone has a lifetime supply of TV sweep tubes it makes no sense spending 200-300 dollars to re tube a sweep tube amp. There are lots of amps running 811 or 572b or 3-500z tubes that can be re purposed at a lower maintenance cost over time, If drive power is an issue there are many older solid state ham rigs that supply 100 watts drive and have all modes. One tube change of sweeps and everything is paid down.
