Interceptor 10K

Jeff, you know well, the little design idea that Jay used to make his antenna as durable as you accurately describe to us here.

Jay's durability is not all just about using good aluminum. Other's making 5/8 wave antennas today seem to be depending on using a little better and/or heavier aluminum. IMO, that does help but they are "NO" I-10K made by the Jay.

If you can get in touch with Lee, Dr_DX in Boerne, Texas, I think he may still have two of Jays !-10K antennas. I think one is NOS and still in the Box. I remember a couple of months ago, he asked me if there was still any market for the I-10K.

I lost his email address or I would let him know there are guys on the forum wanting one of Jays antennas.

Hi Marconi, Jeff, If you could try and touch base with Lee feel free to pass on my e-mail: david@transmittersrus.com as I am very interested in buying one antenna. I am now living in Cyprus in the Eastern Mediterranean but after payment has cleared I can arrange for UPS or Fedex to collect. Appreciate any help before this original dries up completely. Hello All: Sorry to say I am not manufacturing the I-10K or C-10K Antennas at this time. But I do have plans to start up production of these antennas sometime in the further. When I can't say as I have quit a up hill effort to get things in order.
I have a few new designs that are now in on the drawing board and some being tested.

Jay in the Great Mojave Desert Thanks for your interest.

Hi Jay, You probably don't remember me but we did speak I think back in the early 80's when I lived in London, England not Ontario :)
With the help of Jeff and co we're tracking down a possible new old stock I10K.
Back in the day I never did get around to ordering any antennas from you however it was around this time that I imported some Varmint linears direct from Abe Brewer in Porter, OK, I think the first and last into the UK.

Good luck with your future plans.

Keep the quality high, charge a little extra and you will always find customers.

If you need to test the big fuse in the sky...the shipping will be cheaper this time.

Shipping is my favorite subject as I export to and import from the US daily and use parcelmonkey.com, a comparison site for most of my shipping. I arranged for an avionics TDR to be collected from my supplier Carlsbad, CA just last night.

Hello Mustang 131 and all: Yes thanks for the offer, you guys saved me big time by burning up the Mastodon 5K antenna. And driving the design of the Interceptor 10K and 25K. I have people report the I-25K took almost 50KW for several minuets. This being second hand inputs I wasn't there to see it. But highly creditable folk in my opinion. Pass the lead hat please.

Hope all is well there 131.

The metal roof problems seen have do with facets of metal roof making RFI noise not being RF wise connected, and not grounded. Got some e-mail on that one. I have seen braided wire jumpers between the metal facet roofs so to reduce the RFI noise problem and a few grounding wires. So some use a 2x4 board or some sort of insulator between the antenna mast and the metal roof to stop the noise currents going down the mast to ground inducing noise into the antenna in the receiver.

I have communicated with Jay a couple of times about getting the I-10K antenna.
With them being out of production, about a year or so ago, I put up one of the Colossal 10K antennas.
It performs very well and has been in use at my station for well over a year now.
I would still get one of the I-10 K antennas if Jay went back into production.

I own both Chris's and Jay's 5/8 wave antenna. And personally perfer Jay's because it's so damm light! And Jay's design bends much better with the constant afternoon winds here in the foothills. No real difference beyond that, but always interested in newer technology.
