I have no direct connection to this, but good grief this shouldn't happen.

I was never pulled over for a drug search, but I have had a couple situations where I was harassed.
The one that stands out is I was pulled over with the excuse of him not being able to read the expiration on my plate, and then 3 more squads showed up looking for guns in my trunk. It was a massive joke as I had nothing, and never did. And even if I had, there was nothing illegal about having guns in my trunk.
My point is these things are not the norm, but they are not unheard of either. Don't go dismissing something just because "it was found on the internet ".

Hapens all the time in Louisiana. They have been known to shread a vehicle looking and never find anything. Then have to justify cause by arresting for something. St. Tammany Parish is big offender. Even keeping illegally confiscated items including cash, jewelry, and firearms. Most don't have the money to fight, so end up forfeiting.

Years ago feds came down and investigated. Found massive corruption from local, sheriff's, and State Troopers.

When my wife and I first met we both were recently divorced and had children. We had a lot of expenses as a result of the divorces, and had little money. We also didn’t want to introduce our children straight away to our relationship.

As a result of our circumstances, we found a way to spend time together by going to parks, and other public places. Sometimes we would park our car, break out a portable DVD player, and have our “date” right there. No hanky-panky, just spending clean time together watching a movie and having a coca-cola.

On five separate occasions at five separate public locations we faced flashing blue lights and searches of our person, vehicle and belongings. The latest we were ever out was 8pm or so, not what I would consider late. It mattered not that other people were present and at the parks on all except one occasion, never saw them bothered...only us.

I was in my late 30s at the time and my wife about 40, both on active duty and both senior enlisted in the military, nicely dressed in a nice car...and we were being pulled out, questioned, searched, and treated like criminals. We even had the interior door panels ripped off the car once. No alcohol, no drugs, no history of any criminal behavior whatsoever. I’ve never had anything beyond a speeding ticket, my wife has never even had that.

Anyway, I don’t harbor any ill will towards the police, and even have a badge proudly displayed on my mantle from some law enforcement duty I was involved in on active duty. I know it can be tough.

But, I will always be reminded that you can be targeted when doing nothing wrong, and that’s because though most are good, there are also bad apples in every bunch.

The above Facebook post is one side of the story, but as far as I am concerned completely believable.

Try the State of Tennessee and hassling commercial traffic the same way at the weigh station. Article in OVERDRIVE, if interested. Lasted over a decade.

Law Enforcement ceased being honorable long ago (if it ever was). This includes your relatives and friends thus employed.

There are no exceptions.

Civil Asset Forfeiture as the current research topic for the TV watchers and other drool-ers. That’s only the start. John Whitehead has books and blog for those playing catch-up after a lifetime of Soma.

It is impossible to hold such a job and believe in a Constitutional basis to the law simultaneously.

It’s the pension and the power trip. “Illegal orders”, don’t exist for LEO’s. That’s the CYA courts recognize as legitimate in every circumstance.

For the drool-ers: the police have killed how many thousands of Americans the past ten years?

“Terrorism”, has killed how many as a percentage of the above? 10? 12?

Of those stupid enough to be disarmed and arrested — forced into a plea deal with mandatory prison time, fully-innocent of original charge — what percentage now dies in state custody?

Ain’t talkin’ ghetto boys.

2/3 of Americans now believe civil war is a distinct possibility. A likelihood. 2023? Not far off.

Decide now. The law/judicial system hasn’t anything to do with truth.

Twice in the 1930s the USSC ruled it Constitutional to kill uniformed officers violating the Bill of Rights.

As further topic, the Ninth Amendment prohibits privilege under law. No one is a special case due to position. By birth, or by office. Not by circumstance.

No question that it happens and corruption is a real problem. There was a time in my life that I felt like the local cop was out to harass me and my (punk ass) friends. After growing up I stopped associating with certain individuals and stopped doing illegal stuff. Cops aren't a big concern anymore.

Was my attitude many years. But it’s been foolhardy stupid since the Patriot Act.

Wake up.

There’s not a day or an hour thereof you and everyone else isn’t in violation of a multitude of local, state, or federal law.

Willing to be handcuffed?

The original American colonists wouldn’t put up with that. Didn’t.

There’s no bargaining with Evil. No “explanation” that matters.

The NSA has the ability to enable LE to shut down EVERY SINGLE ORGANIZED CRIMINAL ACTIVITY in this country. From securities fraud to street dealing. No exceptions.

I hope “you” (anyone) aren’t going to
ask why they don’t.

Jefferson feared that it would only be a matter of time before the American system of government degenerated into a form of “elective despotism” (1785)
524px-Thomas_Jefferson_by_Rembrandt_Peale_1805_cropped.jpg

From: The Works, vol. 4 (Notes on Virginia II, Correspondence 1782-1786) (Thomas Jefferson)

By: Thomas Jefferson

Theme: Presidents, Kings, Tyrants, & Despots

See this quote in context.

Because Thomas Jefferson (1743-1826) thought it would be only a matter of time before the American system of government degenerated into an “elective despotism,” he warned that citizens should act now in order to make sure that “the wolf [was kept] out of the fold”:

Mankind soon learn to make interested uses of every right and power which they possess, or may assume. The public money and public liberty, intended to have been deposited with three branches of magistracy, but found inadvertently to be in the hands of one only, will soon be discovered to be sources of wealth and dominion to those who hold them… They [the assembly] should look forward to a time, and that not a distant one, when a corruption in this, as in the country from which we derive our origin, will have seized the heads of government, and be spread by them through the body of the people; when they will purchase the voices of the people, and make them pay the price. Human nature is the same on every side of the Atlantic, and will be alike influenced by the same causes. The time to guard against corruption and tyranny, is before they shall have gotten hold of us. It is better to keep the wolf out of the fold, than to trust to drawing his teeth and talons after he shall have entered.

About this Quotation:

1785 seems rather early for Jefferson to be making such dire predictions about the unhappy fate of the new American government, yet his worry that democracy might turn into a form of despotism has proven to be correct if some 200 years later and “not a distant” time as he originally thought. What is interesting about this quote is also the use of animal imagery, this time seeing government as a “wolf” whose teeth and claws would need to be pulled if liberty were to survive.
