I get pool poles for free up to 16,' I think, is there a good place to get the dimensions for the radials and there spacing. I am sure for different bands it's different. I dont want to buy one mor fun to make. Besides I'm poor.

Use 1 1/2 cross PVC fitting for the radials.drill the center slide it on the mast, you could use reducers on the 1 1/2 for the radials to the pole size. Kinda like a moonraker. Thinking out loud here. Feasible? I'like using scrap to make stuff.

What do you call the cross elements that are at right angles to the boom? First one is the longest then they get shorter. I would like to build 4 element beam horizontal and verticle with mostly free parts. I need to do more research on if each element is isolated from the boom. And how to connect the element together so they are balanced. Just a experiment to gain knowledge.

Those elements you refer too are called "elements". :D

Online there are several books by Walter Maxwell on transmission lines and antennas. Good reading. The AARL Antenna books are great too. Make a pot of coffee and take off.

ARRL Antenna Handbook will do the trick. It is a very good publication from an almost Worthless Organization.
