hello all I have a DeltaForce that I loaned out to a friend while I was fixing his radio and his high swr and long winded transmissions blew my 1969 finals out and I was wanting to go ahead and convert it to itf520 mosfets since I have 20 of them ready to use. Could anyone help me to complete this please and thank you

I posted about this in your other thread also. You will be much happier spending the money on the original parts. The Mosfet conversions almost never, "just work," and usually require a good amount of tweaking if you want a clean RF signal and a clean audio envelope. It's a lot of time, for no real benefit, just to save a few dollars. Drop the coin on a proper set of finals, put them in, set the bias to 50mA each (100mA combined) and call it good. You'll be much happier and take it as a lesson not to loan out your radios.
Also, you need to have an oscilloscope and a spectrum analyzer, to know what kind of a signal you're putting out. These conversions aren't ever as simple as any of the, "how-tos," make them out to be. Good luck. 73s

HG2SC1969 are available
I’ve been buying the 1969’s-2166 from rf parts and still can but I’m trying to convert it now to fets. One day the originals will be gone or out of the average workin mans price range so I’m just trying to get it figured out now while it’s down. Also the older men we talk to and I work on their stuff is on a fixed income so I want to be able to save them all I can

Yea this one ain’t going out again lol
I have a scope just don’t have a spectrum analyzer yet but I’m trying to

Now and again I'm asked how hard it is to convert a radio to MOSFETs from bipolars.

I answer that the first one will be the hardest. You'll probably get something wrong, maybe more than one detail. But eventually you'll get it right without too many fried parts.

The second one will be easier, knowing how not to make the mistakes you did the first time. With any luck, it will work the first try, or maybe the second.

The third one will go easier still.

It's all about your objective. If a working radio that's dependable is what you're after, the few more bucks for bipolar parts will save you mucho labor.

If your objective is to learn how to make this conversion, it's probably only worthwhile if you plan to do another half-dozen of them. The up-front labor demand of that first try only seems worthwhile if you plan to take what you learn and use it again.

After all, it's your radio, and the objective is yours to decide.

Hg2sc1969 is like under $5 each. Mosfet are easy, voltage divider to the gate , just gotta bias the gate on .

If it was only that simple to replace a bipolar with a Mosfet...

I have no experience with the HG parts. In fact I didn't know they existed. Let us know how it goes if you use those. Also, a scope is better than no scope. You can at least make sure the modulation level is set correctly.
