SS9900 question

Is there really any difference between the SS9900 and the AT6666? I was considering this radio for the shack. But the price difference has me questioning, does it have features the 6666 doesn't have? Output power seems the same.

Any thoughts?

I bit the bullet and purchased the SS 9900 and had preprogrammed. I also asked the seller the difference between the 2 radios.

Here is his reply:

The SS9900 has CTCSS as standard and the AT6666 doesn’t – also the SS9900 are the version 4s, which means they do 10m, 11m and all of 12m – wheras the AT6666 only does 10m and 11m.

I currently have both the 6666 and 9900 in for repairs from the same customer. They are both exhibiting similar issues I have not tackled ether one yet as they just came in but in the notes, from the customer, he said they are both new and only lasted about 2 hrs of use. They are not in the line up yet. But if I can I will try to do some video on them.

What was the issues that were mentioned?

I know my 6666 got a stuck NB and I had to do a full reset and do the 11m thing again. I don't really need the NB in the house so I just don't run it anymore.
 
I am curious also. I have the 6666 in the pick up and have had no issues. I'm currently waiting the arrival of the ss9900. UPS says it will be here tomorrow.

I was wondering the same thing. What are the odds, almost sounds like some operator error or misuse going on there.
