Having some lag in power at key up. Dead keys 80 then few seconds goes to 100. Have checked tubes and they seem fine on tester.

The tube tester can never put a full load onto the tubes.
And your tubes are misbehaving only after a few seconds of full load. Good chance the trouble is one or more tubes.

My skipper you have to key up to heat tubes up to make more watts going to try a recap first because it has 8950 tubes
This amp has 8950 tube and its wired for 6.3v that's the problem figured it out today
This site has the best prices I've seen for the 6KD6 tube set for the 300A...I would call ahead tho to make sure they still have them before ordering...
