Alinco DX-R8T

I just purchased a like new Alinco DX-R8T on Ebay and boy, am I impressed! Switching between my Icom R-75 and the Alinco with the same antenna, the difference in the signal strength and noise floor was amazing. Of course my Icom is over 15 years old now but I was still impressed with the better noise floor of the Alinco. The R-75 has been my main goto receiver but I think the Alinco may take that spot. If anyone has been thinking about buying one, do it! You won't be disappointed.

It's on my short list for 2020. One of the guys I watch on YouTube, Fred-In-The-Shed, has one that he's been using for awhile.

All I have to do now is figure out which rig I'll have to sell to get it...

I have had the 8T since 2015. I use it with a manual MFJ-941e tuner as a base. I love mine.

Only a few nuances with it like the NB sucks. But other than that I get contacts and good reports. I run the compression on.
