I agree Redbeard U812 about not knowing if you are being heard and how it sounds. I make changes to antennas or whatever and no one answers calls. You wonder if anything is even working? Calling out for radio checks gets no responses because there just isn't anyone there. Very frustrating.
Yup. Called for check on 19 Friday, got driver just down the rd. At least it worked.
I switched radios thought the recieve went out or something.No DX here in a couple of days. Just a few of us old dude rednecks yakking on 20 AM occasionally and telling each other how good their radios sound.

I can't tell you how many times I thought my radio was broken because the bands were so dead.

Michigan and Minnesota working good on SSB tonight. Michigan guy on 20 AM so loud and distorted all I could understand was that he was in Michigan.
All I got is something s3's, and sounds like Q-bert jumping. 19-20 AM loudest. USB and LSB not as much. I hope I didn't mess anything up by trying a RK56 wired for the 2970N2 on the 980. Oooops! But sounds like rf from maybe roadside signal flasher.

Taint nuthin south Texas either. On coast can't get anything along Gulf. Not a peep from Mex.
