Wow! I guess it's time I posted about meeting the guy who runs HAARP.

His name is Chris Fallen, a professor at the University of Alaska. HAARP is their baby now. And it's purely an atmospheric-research tool now.

Hi all, new here but was trying to get ahold of Mike. I have been doing business with him for several years, have called him, texted him and haven’t made contact with him since last year. I have spent in excess of $20,000 with him over the years, and he has several of my radios and other equipment. Some 2 Tram D201As, several CPI CP2000, ARF 2001, Browning Mark lV, Robyn T123b, CPI 2-CP 300, 1 CP 400, Motorola 500 CB555. Have paid him $700 for MarklV and $1000 for the Tram D201’s and he still has them. I like Mike, and have been more than patient and have spent hours on the phone just talking, he has his boat loaded with personal family situations, but I have asked him just to box my equipment up and send it to me, I will be happy to pay freight, some of the items I have never seen, I had them shipped directly to him. I saw one of the members live about an hour from Mike. If anyone is close enough to see and talk to him I am concerned about his health and pray he and his family are well. I just would like some assistance or advice in getting my equipment returned. I am in Texas and it’s a reach for me to get there. Thanks

If this is true this is definitely not good news. :(
 
Unfortunately it is true, I posted on one of Mike’s YouTube videos that with the new equipment he had gotten that he might be able to get to my radios. I had a person respond that Mike is just overwhelmed with work and he would get to them what he could. I explained my situation and that 3 years was enough time to get caught up. Another person responded saying Mike had sold my equipment, that is when I got Mike on the phone and he assured me that he had my stuff and was going to get to it. That was the last time I heard from him and then he quit posting his videos, so that is why I’m so concerned. Thanks for the reply.

I'm sorry to hear this but this just doesn't sound like Mike unless something serious has happened. Unfortunately the only way to really find out what's going on is for a local customer to physically go to his home/shop to do a welfare check. Police normally do these checks for neighbors and relatives but I doubt they would do one for one of his customers.

I agree, I consider Mike a friend, and although it’s been a long time for repairs he always answered phone or text or email. I hope anyone that knows and lives close can check on him.
I wish I could help but I live over 200 miles away from his shop. I would hope there might be customers and/or friends either on this forum or on YouTube who may live much closer to his shop to do a welfare check. Good Luck!

May have to take him to court or contact the attorney generals office and see if they will help.People had to do that to that A$$-hole Jack Thurston aka Freecelll (banned here) aka 292 radio shop. He took off with so many people equipment lots are still looking for him.

It takes less than 5 min to send a email to a customer and give them a choice of wait or send it back.
No one is so busy they can not do that or this thread is the result.
And unfortunately this is a often heard story in the history of CB repair.
You might expect this from the guy in the motor home at pilot or loves truck stop but you should know better.
My opinion is that if you are so busy that it is going to take 6 months to get caught up you should stop taking in stuff for repair.
That is my viewpoint.

It’s way past being discourteous. And if he did have a radio of mine and had had it for more than a year without responding to my phone calls and emails, I’d be knocking on his door.

Its a business that's how it has to be treated.
If you have worked for yourself you get to understand how communication
with your customer is very important.
It tells your customer that you are on top of your business and his stuff.
There is another thing to CB radio repair shops.
This is a selective notch in electronics repair, with focus just on that market and your reputation is everything.
I have seen repair shops that also work on other electronic equipment, cb, ham, business radio, car audio components and general repairs of misc electronics.
They were also the guys that had your stuff for no more than 5 days before it was fixxed or they would have already called you and have explained that there is a supply issue or some other delay.
Not to bash anyone, this is just one of those things you take on when you decide to step out on the street.
