Objective: To encourage W/VE stations to expand knowledge of DX propagation on the HF and MF bands, improve operating skills, and improve station capability by creating a competition in which DX stations may only contact W/VE stations.

W/VE amateurs: Work as many DX stations in as many DXCC entities as possible on the 160, 80, 40, 20, 15, and 10-meter bands.

W/VE stations send signal report and state or province.

DX stations send signal report and power (number or abbreviation indicating approximate transmitter output power).

I will be at W8PR Contest station trying my best to help. They have some excellent CW op's...
I'll be the slow speed anchor (maybe at BEST 25 wpm)

But will help best I can! Every point helps!

You slow speed op's if you listen near the top of CW sub-bands, there will be op's running as slow as 5 WPM
So Like me jump in to get your feet wet!

MANY special DX stations will be operating from Africa and S. Pacific for this contest. Many hard to get countries!

Hi Gary, hope you guys had fun in the contest.

I operated from NJ3I. We are building a contest station together in rural Dushore, PA. All we have up for antennas at the moment are:
2- phased 80m Delta Loops
2- phased inverted L's for 160
delta loops for 40-20-15-10.

Our two towers are ready to go up as soon as the freezing weather ends and we remove a few more trees.

Anyway.....We had three stations, three operators, and entered as Multi/Multi, high power. Focused on the 40-160 and working as many mults as possible. We couldn't really hold a frequency long enough to run 20 meters so we had a ball on the low bands. Great fun running JA's on 40 and 80 meters early in the morning.

Band conditions on 15 meters were awful. We worked no one on 10 meters.

Our goal was 2 million points. We made our goal around 7 am Sunday.

Highlights were working Guam, AH2R on 40 and 80, and Norfolk Island, VK9NR on 80.

Glad you guys had some Radio Fun.
Band conditions in the Midwest(nr Dayton, Oh) were ok but not great.
We ended up with just short of 2 mill points.
Did have a nice run on 15 meters Saturday morning...Like 20+ countries, mostly Ruskies and Euro's.
40 meters early Saturday morning yielded some nice stuff also.
I had a run of JA's, ZL's and HI...French Polynesia, Philippines, etc. I missed China and the Mongolia station. but did get Guam (think we had him on 3 bands).
Yes, 20 meters was absolutely a ZOO!!!!...swear everyone was squeezed into about 40 KC spread. Let off the key and 5 other stations calling on the same spot!!~!!

Then you're trying to pull out a 100 watt Euro or Aisa station down under that mess.
There was no doubt in my mind that some were running CODE READERS on their computers as there was no chance to pull some out when all you heard was key clicks.
But the nature of contesting in today's world.

We worked JT1CO, in Mongolia, on 40, early Sunday Morning. JT1BV was spotted on 20m Saturday but we couldn’t hear him.

We worked a few JA’s on 80 giving “E” as their exchange. Hard to believe.

Enjoy the 160 contest. The only SSB I do is ARRL DX, and CQ WW. A root canal is more pleasurable than an SSB contest!
