This DXpedition is just getting started. They will be there until March 5th. Expect the pile ups to be huge.

I was fortunate to work them this morning on 30m, CW, at 09:00 UTC. They were loud and calling CQ. No waiting!!

Here is a link to their web page. https://sorkney.com/

They also have an Group.IO group. https://groups.io/g/VP8PJ

Have fun and good luck.

I been keepin eye on this expidition

I've been trying to work VP8PJ on 160 meters, CW, since the start. I've been watching the spots from the East Coast on the Reverse Beacon Network http://www.reversebeacon.net/dxsd1/dxsd1.php?f=90256

They were spotted on the 25th at 05:30 UTC but I missed them. So I stayed up late the past few nights hoping to work them. Nada. Though they were spotted briefly last night their signal was too light to work.

They have made over 38,00 QSOs so far. Only 793 on 160, and only 272 of those were from North America.

Guess I will continue to have a few more late nights.

BTW....if you like to work exotic DX your chances are greatly improved if you use CW or FT8. 80% of the QSOs made by VP8PJ are CW and FT8. SSB accounts for 18% of the total. These ratios are similar to other DXpeditions in the past year or so.
