MIKE OF MIKE'S RADIO REPAIR

Maybe.
3 years to have a customers equipment is just not right with no contact.
It takes less than 5 min to send a email to a customer and give them a choice of wait or send it back.
No one is so busy they can not do that or this thread is the result.
And unfortunately this is a often heard story in the history of CB repair.
You might expect this from the guy in the motor home at pilot or loves truck stop but you should know better.
My opinion is that if you are so busy that it is going to take 6 months to get caught up you should stop taking in stuff for repair.
That is my viewpoint.

I was under the impression that at one time Mike was thinking about hiring somebody part time to respond to his emails.

Surely there is someone who can check on him more local in his area and report back to us with some info. The idea of visiting him to retain my 5 radios keeps crossing my mind but isn't the most viable option, even though it seems the only one at times to get a real idea of what is going on with Michael. A great guy who got put into overload and no chance of catching up must have part of this situation, but doesn't justify not contacting his customers, and being silent... Though he's done this before with me, but not as long this time! I'm very concerned myself, and hope desperately somebody checks in on him and let's us know something soon !!!

It has been confirmed he's got the highest HAM license at this point last month...

It's hard for me to believe that after all this time nobody has checked up on him.

Maybe call the local police department to perform a welfare check on him? His last video had him rearranging his bench to accommodate a very high tech radio analyzer and I would think that he would be eager to show a video of that capability, even if he was planning on decreasing the frequency of his videos.

I’ve had 2 radios repaired by Mike in the last month. Both were completed and back to me within a week. Mike is fine. He even responded to me in the billing email when I had a question about the work.

Yeah 2 weeks like that doesn't make any sense unless he's on his way back in terms of communication and servicing again one step at a time as he's only 1 person ! With a little help on some regular other stuff, he would be in better shape to do what is the servicing stuff and the other, at least some of it could be managed by somebody else he trusts possibly... Still he's top in my list both in servicing and as a moral decent good person ! Getting thousands of radios sent to him could explain ALOT for the hold up, but no response isn't really working in his favor, even for me LOL...

Hang in there people, Retro

I this thread ran its usefulness out along time ago..... Read it and makeup your own mind
