Anytone at-6666 v3

Different folks, different strokes. I've never had a lescomm special so I've got nothing negative to say but I've heard a lot of good things about Lester himself. That said, if it's a great rig to you that's all that matters my friend. Back closer to topic now, yeah it's a nice radio with some good potential but that's only my opinion and others who agree because they too have owned one. So far so good here no complaints! They aren't perfect and they'll carry the black box radio stigma but compared to many other "black box" radios it's a for sure winner in many areas others aren't so much. I've really enjoyed the Magnum 1 but for me this quad 6 out performs it in several ways. A wicked little radio is one way to put it!
What is the bias on these radios I heard there set to high from factory and that is what makes the finals go like a fuse

mines been fine. Early runs were hitting 70w on FM which cooked finals. They have since addressed that issue.

I had mine setup for 48w AM and 50w SSB and not over modulated. Some still overcrank them. One guy said he has his at 90w sideband but set his transmit timeout to like 30 seconds. On low I see 3w swinging 18-20w. I'm happy with that as well.

I run my power at like 9am and see it swing a hair over 30w on SSB. Perfect for my setup and amp as my voice is usually 22w on avg talking.

I say leave it alone, I've got 2 and both have served well for almost 2 years now. If it ain't broke don't fix it. The ones that have popped are the ones a golden screwdriver has been in and turned potentiometers. The only thing I did to mine was turn down the dead key to 10 watts because it was a little hot for my comfort.

No if Apple made them then they would work great out of the box at first then 2 years in an update would hit them and the performance would degrade. That and Apple designs all of their products especialy computers to fail in a very predictable fashion. Let us say a product needs an 100V voltage regulator or 100A rectifier Apple will use one rated for 85V or 85A. Why? They know that 75% of them will make it out of the warranty period with out failing but none of them will make it out of say Warranty plus 1 year unless they are used in a dry cool environment so Alaska, Siberia and Antarctica. Then they make the cost to repair or replace insanely high so that it does not make sense to do anything but buy a new one. Nope I was an Apple Fan decades ago but PC's are cheaper, faster, easy to repair or upgrade. Apple is not what they once were not even close! Apple is for well trained ultra consumers! They are not the Toyota of the PC industry they are more like the Mercedes of the PC world......glitz and glamour and fine to lease but money pits if you plan on owning them past 3-5 years.
I understand Apple hate but to think Dell built them any better is crazy. My last MacBook went 8 years and I only sold it because I wanted a faster machine. My current is a 2015 model and it is fast and bulletproof. Anyone that has taken a Mac apart has to to appreciate their build quality.

As a shop owner and technician vthe AT quad 6 is hands-down the best 10 meter mobile I think dollar per watt there is. It is basically a smaller version of the striker 955 board with very few differences. The radio is an expensive and quite a performer. As mentioned in a previous posting, FM power turned up too high cooked a lot of radios, and the way to defeat that issue is to set the power levels at reasonable levels when tuning for all moods. Outo the box it is quite powerful. With the NPC/RC mod opens up the swing incredibly, up to 30 Watts average from a 6 watt dk. I sell them with 1/2 watt deadkey on low-power and a 6 watt dead key on high-power. I have yet to have one come back with any problems. I have sold over a hundred of them. They are manufactured by the same company that manufactures the Stryker series of radios, CRT or Superstar radios etc. Qixiang electron technology group in Shenzhen China. I have been impressed Time after Time after Time with the build quality, performance, and reliability of this fantastic little radio. the only thing I wish they did was put a better microphone on it that was not an electret condenser mic, though many of my customers sound just fine with the stock mic. Crystal clear audio, some of the best build quality available and definitely a Galaxy killer.

Can you give us any info on the npc/rc? I have a 5555 and think it rivals my 955 and only half the cost.

What would you replace the finals for and to which ones. If you're talking about the 2030+ believe they are overrated for what they are. The radio with either the 520's or 13n10's does exactly what it was designed to do and does really well as is. That's just my take on it
