This is for the mods and forum admin.

I would like to suggest adding a forum for electronics discussion that is more general in nature than discussions on CB or HAM specific electronics.

i feel like this would be a great place for learning about electronics and not just, "cut this diode for more modulation" type questions and answers.

we have some great techs and gurus here on the forum and i think this would be something fun for them to contribute to without entering into the arguments that seem to follow hobby specific electronics discussions.

My suggestion for where to put this forum would be all on its own right in between the ham and CB sections.

what do you guys think?

Good idea....best way to explain swapping a 1/2" pipe nipple for buss fuse or how many wraps of aluminum foil around the old one. How to discharge AC capacitor while standing in water. Does my water heater really need that ground wire?

as any experienced elechicken knows, you always jump into the air while checking High voltage connections.

boy you got that right LOL!

that damn AvE channel is like an addiction.

the other YT rabbit holes i have fallen down include Rick Beato (music channel), Uncle Doug (all things tube guitar amp), and Essential Craftsman (currently building and filming a spec house in Oregon).

Also, how to backfeed your service panel with your generator.

We do that often, hurricanes. Really pisses power companies off when you remove the meter.:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

It's justifiable, in times of distress. Most linemen are aware people do this. They get real nice poking around after a storm when they see the purple paint.

What's the purple paint for?

Used in many states now as form of "Posted" ......" No Trespassing ".

When first incorporated in '97, a "Posted" sign was required with the paint markings of vert line or lines at least 1 inch wide by 8 inches long. Now just purple paint.

Relative to that by markings of purple paint accompanied by "Castle Law" it is sufficient to shoot.

Look up Purple Paint Laws.....think NC is one of them.
