Ksl seems to be a bunch of locals in Utah swapping their junk (yeah I know that doesn't sound right) and when I message them its like im an alien trying to make contact lol.
So I finally was able to make a deal on ksl. I bought a lot of 13 nos cobra 4/5 pin mics for $10/each. Only 1 not in a package. Ill keep a couple and resell the rest.
Score...

Online classifieds that has a ham/cb section. Mostly locals in Utah advertising but I often see good stuff for sale.

Ah, so Seattle is outta luck on that one!

One time when I was in Sandy, UT to watch a Sounders away match (soccer) we cruised some local garage sales - I picked up a very cute 1946 Montgomery Wards "Airline" AM radio. It currently sits in my mom's kitchen and plays 880 KIXI AM oldies like it is brand new!

The radio is as old as she is!
Yes, Seattle is SOL on this one lol.
Sounds llike you found a good tune box for mom.
I spent 10 years in Pend Oreille county, east side. I miss the mountains but not the people. The summer, fall and winter city folk were horrible, especially during fire season. They figured what the hell, its 90° and a burn ban is on but we're camping and need a fire. Who cares if we start a forest fire, we'll just go back home.
You ever go to any of the barterfaires or hippie festivals? Oregon Country Faire is a good one. Okanogan Family Faire is another.

I'm not clear on why Seattle (or anywhere) is out of luck....

I did not see it....but is there something on there that says "locals only"??

So folks will ship?
I messaged the seller and he called me. He was kind of surprised that I was in Florida wanting to buy. He agreed to ship and I paid him for that too.
Im guessing it meant Seattle or west coast is outta luck on that sale, east coast got it lol.
I don't know about locals only on KSL but it does seem to be a very regional classified, mainly the central/south west of the Rockies. Ive tried several times to buy items but they were reluctant to ship.

I wonder if they were reluctant to ship...... or reluctant to wind up with various "monkeyshines" on payments. Like...if they are in the immediate area...they can locate them.....across the country...not so much.

Still with something like PayPal... they would actually have the funds in hand.....possibly within minutes..... so I can't really understand it.

but in the end... it IS their site/facility......

Mormons are very close knit group. The tried and true ones. Almost closed society. The wish their brothers to get the items, that's why seems to be good pricing. They are good people, my son in-law is Mormon, but not the strict type, he has told me some are really closed. Fanatical biblical wise. But we have the Southern Baptists and the Evangelists, then there are the ones that talk in tongue.
