WTB: 7 or 10 inch 102" steel whip riser

I run a 102" whip on my mobile and have done so for years. Never heard of a "riser"...what is it for and what does it do? is it in pace of the spring/ball mount I use?

If I could find (or they made) a proper old school spring, I might pass on the riser. The risers are nice, as they allow a good bit of adjustment. Depending on the size, you can get up to 6" or so, of adjustment.

I'm installing this on our combine and harvester. I don't have to worry about hitting anything. The riser will allow me to make rapid adjustments. It also looks bad ass.

I don't know why others would use one on a whip. I made mine because I didn't like a short shaft below the coil on a center loaded antenna. I'd raise the coil higher and shorten the upper whip.
