Welcome to the Sirio Blizzard 2700 with anti-vibration ring.

If it looks very familiar to some that comes as no surprise. Yep....we have yet another repackaging of the Sirio 827 being released as a brand new antenna where all they've done is kept the same core antenna and made changes to the radials, this time taking the stock 827 and adding the optional anti-vibration ring as a stock part of the antenna. This makes what, the 7th or 8th rehash of the 827? We've had the Sirio 2012, the "new improved v2" 2012, the 2016, Tornado and probably a few others which are all the same core antenna but with either longer but fewer radials, more but shorter radials or those antennas but with plastic sleeves covering the joints.

Seriously Sirio, talk about flogging a dead horse.

At least they are making antennas.

“A rose is just as sweet . . . . (?).

I “get” the premise that the latest Ford Pinto now called the Mustang, has a different motor and cosmetic striping. But it still steers and brakes like before.

Nash is gone. So is Packard. Vauxhall. Others.

Would it have helped if, “the same basic antenna”, was presented with optional changes and each variation had its own name? (17) catalog listings?

I’ve looked over a unrelated product line recently where this is the case (model numbers) and ongoing manufacturing changes DO make for difficulty in distinguishing one model from the other.

Must be six variants at present. Performance and Cosmetic differences are mixed together. Not clear at first glance. Price isn’t much help.

“Sirio HF Base Vertical, Mod. 3, Mark VI”, might have been easier.

Availability IS the thing.

.

But Blizzard?

Ever been in one?

Unless it's DQ offering a new Dessert - it's kinda hard to get psyched up for an Antenna named "Blizzard".

Can barely see past the hood...

The most available series of antennas. They have a big following here in the EU. Sirio get recommended because they work and also because most radio shops stock the brand.Other brands are stocked too but cb operators may go for a Sirio for convienence and reputation and affordability
