See....
They need to make that able to snap onto an RF deck in a mobile or base. Drive up to yer destination, unsnap it, slap in an HT battery and yack.
Mobile is one thing, but for me, I think it's rediculous taking this thing out in the boonies. It's to damn expensive and fragile. Seriously, it's just like I said about the Elecraft. It's to fancy for trail use. I imagine most owners buy them, but only fantacize about taking it out in the mud and dirt. They'd cry and puke if it got scratched or dropped it. Yes! I'd take it to field day, but it would sit on a nice table under cover from the elements. For trail use, I'd want a traditional QRP rig, not something that looks like it was detached from a $5000 base radio.
I do like this rig. I'd like it better if it was part of a modular system.
Doesn't matter what I think anyways. I'm to old to prance along a trail.
