102” whip shipping

Bought a 102" whip some time ago, and they shipped it in a 1" dia pvc pipe/free shipping.
Good call.
The ball and spring mount I just ordered last week from Walmart, as it was the cheapest price, good quality, and free shipping.
Just in case you are looking for a good deal for the same.

Mine is priority mail, also.

Just looked at the tracking info.

They logged “Delivery attempted” - not true.

And if you look it the details it says “held at Post Office at request of the customer” - also not true.

On one hand I sympathize with the carriers. I truly had no idea it would be shipped USPS.

On the other hand - I have to do the job I paid them to do, and they’ve fudged the records.

Yeah, 60/40 still. But damn.

It costs me 92 bucks but I got free shipping and couldn't pass up the deal on the Hustler SSM1. Spring and ball combo. Only wanted the spring but with free shipping the ball only was a few dollars more. So count down till a new 102 and SS spring & ball arrives.

They are a little pricey there but the service is great. Never had a problem.

A real spring (Cal Av Mark 5) will set you back more than that.

Wow those springs look nice!
I haven't found a decent spring and was hoping the hustler would be better than most other junk. Its a part time application so the price fits the order
 
Nearest RS to me is 37 miles away. Radio Shack Express...little store within a hobby store. Never been there.

Supposedly a regular RS store 44 miles away. Used to be two here, then one, then none.

Local CB shop at truck stop on I-85 doesn't stock the steel whips any longer. Doesn't want to pay the shipping cost even for several at a time.
