Anybody notice how the prices of used radios rose when this quarenteen bs hit?
Lots of pure crap for sale bringing as much as good or new radios.
Person i know bought a pos.he brought it over n ask why it wont work? I opened it up n it had parts missing, lots of parts.
I asked why he bought it? He said it was $10 cheeper than new. I put covers on n said hope you paid via paypal. He said let me pay you,i refused.
I got on ebay n looked at lots of junk. 1 seller had a trucl load of kenwood radios all the same model, priced high for no mic no power cord not working and $98. Shipping.
Hope people wake up n not buy this junk but they will, "its a bargain" yep spend $700 on a $500 radio

eBay is like shooting CRAPS when buying Radios...WON'T do it...
Buy only from Dealers and Ham to Ham sales on QTH.com QRZ classified etc...

I once sold Radios on eBay...to many scammers give the good ones a bad name...not to mention their FEES are now ridiculous!!!
Feedback Scores mean NOTHING!
When eBay protects their High Volume ...High Fee Generators!!!!

I see people selling the stock mics that come with a radio when you buy it for like $40. Vintage cobra mic, hahahaha. Im so sick of that word too. Seems like everything is vintage nowadays on ebay
yes very annoying.it sold new with mic n power cord sell it as it sold new

The worst radio I bought from Ebay about ten years ago was a real pile.
Had sand and dirt throughout the chassis and in the control pots; smelled like a swamp.
Guessing here, but I think it was taken out of the Katrina bath and soaking.
The seller kinda conveniently left that info out of the description.
It cleaned up OK; but the speaker and meter were completely shot.
It was a Superstar 360FM for $30.
After a recap and alignment and replacing those two errant parts, it was quite the talker.

I've been clearing out some old stuff and people are paying crazy prices for all radio gear. I even told people in some listings "this is worth about $100" since it wasn't working and I honestly didn't want someone paying $150 for it....people still bid it up like crazy :)

I got solar power flashlites for sale too, great for nite workers transfered to day shift and deepfreezers for eskimoes

hard to catch a trend at the right time, never know what will sell good , been in the used motorcycle parts business for 40 years or so, seen a lot of trends come and go
If I'm buying radio equipment online, unless it's is basically free, i want it new with factory warranty

Buying radios on ebay is a game of doing your homework. I ask for pics inside and out, I google their ebay user name and check their ebay feedback good and bad.
Ive been selling more on ebunk lately because people are willing to pay stupid prices. I refuse to list junk as "powers up untested", thats a red light. Anyone who refuses to post up the pics I ask for I wont buy from either. So far ive had pretty good luck but I havent bought any radios on ebay since before the shutdown.
I find over priced junk on letgo and offerup too.

I sold an amp on Facebook last week and I made sure to take pictures of every angle, inside and out. I have a video of the amp running and of me boxing it up with the final address on the box.
I wasn't going to take a chance of getting screwed.

Any purchase or sale is between the Seller & the Buyer & it's nobody else's business. We live in a Free Market Society.Do you want me or anyone else telling you what you may or may not purchase & not just radio gear? I could care less what someone else gets for anything or what anyone pays for anything since it's none of my business & it's not against the law.Yes I will get a good laugh but they may laugh at me as well so it's all good. You are allowed to ask any price you like & someone is OK in paying the price if they wish.Personally I will sell everything I own except my Dog for $1,000,000 CASH with no warranty to anyone who wishes to buy it.I am not taking offer because the price is FIRM.Me,My Wife,& Dog will find somewhere else to live & start all over & try & survive. {:>)

Agreed.

1). Someone who started long ago is holding the cards already.

2). It’s possible some things won’t be seen again.

Travel trailers of interest to me were plentiful circa 2007. Then, they disappeared. The few which appear can be pitiful. (Built circa 1963-1993).

Are there ones I wish NOW I’d gone and gotten? (Ha!).
