I am looking for a trusted and authorized? Technician that has a reputable background to work on an RCI 2990's, I've had it for many a years 8+yrs, it's been in storage here at home all those years, not being used (Original owner). I've recently set my station up again and getting back into the hobby, as much I broke the ole girl out, dusted her off so to speak, adjusted all the settings and knobs before keying it down, allowing it time to run and warm up if you will, I'm experiencing some cutting in/out on my receive/transmit, when I'm sitting here listening to people speaking to me the receive will cut out only momentarily, every 10 seconds or so, maybe sooner on occasion and the same thing on transmit, when I key down you see the audio swinging on the meter and the RED transmit light lights up, while I'm transmitting it will stop transmitting, the red light will go out and i have to let off the key and key up again. So needless to say I'm not gonna continue using it at its current state. We no longer have tech's here in or around the Akron, Ohio area so I thought it best to check the community here and see if you folks could direct me in the rite direction to assist me in getting my beauty here working properly again, thank you so very much in advance. Cheers folks!

There are only 2 Ranger certified techs in the lower 48. One is Tony at Mesa CB Wildwood Florida. He does NOT accept mail in work because of the roughness of the shipping process, especially bases, but I think he knows the other tech and may be able to put you in contact with him.
Tony is in his 70's and not in the shop alot. You can usually catch him Saturday mornings after 10am eastern.
Others here may be of more help.
