I have a stryker sr955hp in my semi that works beautifully but when I talk on it for a bit it powers off and comes back on ... Any one know what it could be ... Ran my own 10ga power wire
Look connections over, did you run ground wire same as hot wire? If using a metal part in cab for ground, its posible thats its problem, then if not its in radio
I was going to run ground but by the time I got the power wire and coax ran it was dark .. Was thinking I would run it to a ground point on frame . but it's got to be the radio because this isn't the only truck it's happened in

Are you saying there is no ground wire? If not, it's trying to ground from the board through the chassis and through the small mounting screws. Not the designed operating procedure.
Were the previous installs run this way? If not, I would suspect that. Run an actual ground wire to a good ground of your choice to test.
Id say its weakened part of its guts via bad ground, never install or operate electrical devices in automotive or marine vessels without a great ground. Most faults back to grounds
