I replaced a audio amplifier in a cobra 29 LTD Chrome. There is a SUD between two of the legs. It went flying. After tearing the desk apart I found it. Landed in my ash tray. Not for smoking but where I throw my old parts. I would like to know what this part is incase this happens again.15982786890431590293967317646369.jpg20200824_100914.jpg

That's a great question. I've reflowed the legs on that chip before and always feared losing or destroying it without knowing what exactly it is. I'd like to know myself.

That was that "awe hell" moment haha. It's a wonder you even found it in there but good thing you did. Could've been like when you're tired with tunnel vision and what you're looking for has been right in front of your eyes the whole time!

looking at the schematic for the 29LX series which i believe is the same board you are looking at (well mostly the same anyway), this would be a part that is going from pin 4 which is the output pin, to PC board ground, and it looks like there is a C44 1uF cap there.
i couldn't see it in the main PC board layout on top of the board, so look for C44 in your radio, and if you cant find it near the audio chip, my best guess is that its the SMT part soldered to the foil side of the board.

While it was disconnected I'd use my capacitor checker and ohm meter. At least that would have given you a ballpark idea of it's value. Is that part box shaped or cylindrical? All the 1uf SMT caps that I know of are box shaped and cream colored. SMT resistors are usually black. I'm betting it's a 1uf.
